We were surprised to find a completely unsolicited shout-out to our site in the Guardian last month as part of an article on creative industry in Leeds. Thank you, Guardian.

We had a birthday in the office this week and, as is Wingfinger custom, a special birthday card was created.

The exciting birthday present accompanying the card was a nifty piece of guerilla gardening design from a company called Kabloom. The Seedbom is basically a (grenade-shaped) lump of clay, plant food and flower seeds, ready to be thrown into your garden, your neighbour’s terrible backyard, or the local wasteground-come-fly tipping site. There is apparently enough planty goodness in the Seedbom to give the flowers the flying start they need.

Kabloom say that the Seedbom is manufactured from recycled, environmentally-friendly and locally-sourced materials, all of which we are fans of at Wingfinger!

There is more information on the Kabloom Facebook page, and you can buy your own four-pack of Seedboms at Folksy.com. (An Easter egg alternative, perhaps?)

Well we’ve finally had time to sit down and join the masses with our very own blog, Wingfingerponderings. We hope this will be a happy place, where we can trumpet about new projects, share our passions and concerns (including some that are clients care about, too) and ponder on The World and Everything In It.

This will be a spot for our Wingfinger spirit to take off – hopefully with more success than this pigeon, who tried something similar outside our office a few months back (we think he walked it off and lived to fly another day, though).

To find out more about our graphic design studio in Leeds, the services we offer and the sort of jobs we are doing, have a browse through the Wingfinger website. Learn more about the Wingfinger team and our company ethos, our history and our clients – and have a look through our portfolio of work.
